It is usually used to treat anxiety, tension and depression associated with neurosis. Also it is used to treat physical symptoms, anxiety, tension and depression associated with psychosomatic disorders (autonomic imbalance, cardiac neurosis).
GABA受容体作動薬 です。通常の酔い止めの抗ヒスタミンではありません。精神安定剤、抗うつ剤、睡眠導入剤です。バルビタールの代用として開発されたらしいので、睡眠導入剤誘発作用が強いのでしょう。正直、あまりご厄介になりたくない薬です。 最近も書いたのですが、旅行に持っていく常用薬には二種類あって、飲まないと命に関わるもの（血糖や血圧を下げる）と、飲まなくても良いもの（似ているが高脂血症薬）などで、上記は全て後者です。要するに最悪没収、紛失しても気にしない。 忘れても構いません（持ち込み云々ということです）。もちろん、没収もまずありえないでしょう。 やはり、薬とおさらばする努力が必要だと思いますが、それは後の話。
