不要です。使用開始日をDBオンライン購入時に指定要求されるため。

連続タイプConsecutiveの自宅プリントアウト形式のジャーマンレイルパスでは、ヴァリデーションは不要です。

オンラインで買った場合：

それにに対して窓口で買った場合：
If you buy the travel pass at a DB Travel Centre or sales office, the travel pass must be activated before the first journey within eleven months after the date of purchase by a DB employee (entry of validity dates). In this case you must not enter the validity dates yourself.
アクティヴェイト＝ヴァリデイトが必須となっています。

How do I activate the pass?

Your German Rail Pass must be activated before you start using it. This must be done within 11 months of the issuing date. German Rail Passes must be activated by a railway official, who will enter the first and last day of validity on the pass.
