Preferred seat select facility is available at Air India Booking office and Contact Center.
Seat reservation for our First & Business Class passengers on all select routes operated by Air India will be Free of Charge as per the current policy.
The paid seat selection doesn't include Bassinet seats for infants which continue free of charge. One accompanying child or an adult in addition will be provided an adjoining seat free of charge at the time of ticket booking, subject to availability. In order to avail this facility, the second child or parent has to be booked in the same Booking Reference as the infant and the first parent.
The preferred seat selection scheme for Economy Class passengers is available on select routes operated by Air India. This scheme is not available on-Air India code share and Alliance Air flights.
The scheme extends to cover Window, Aisle and Middle Seats in the Front and Middle zone of the Aircraft. All seats in the rear section including Window, Aisle and Middle are currently available free of charge, and available through our website on first come basis.

Learn about Preferred Seat Option

Air India presents Preferred Seat Option (or PSo) that allows travelers to get preferred seats for their flights at a nominal price (up to 75% lower than regular seating price) and makes the journey a lot more comfortable. With PSo, you may choose to get desired seats on the aircraft, like emergency exit seator front row seat. So, get ready to make your flight experience a lot more comfortable!
How does it work?

If you have a flight booking on Air India, you can sign-up online for Preferred Seat Option by paying a nominal price.You will be notified via email about your preferred seat assignment usually within few minutes. If not assigned, your Preferred Seat Price will be refunded to you within 5 days after the flight departure.
